Project Creative Director STEVEN SHORE is the Project Creative Director and president of Shore Entertainment based in Carmel, California. For many years Steven has been active in the music and entertainment business, overseeing projects in the fields of music, movies, and entertainment. He has a background in managing artists under contract to Warner Brothers, CBS and Geffen Records. As a consultant to the music industry he has organized international media companies and conducted music tours for recording artists.
Screenwriter ALEXANDER “SANDY” IGNON, Screenwriter, had aspirations at an early age to become a serious writer. But his initial career path took him in entirely different directions. He was First Mate on a large schooner, an actor, an executive with Johnny Carson’s film company, and designer of ceiling fans! When Sandy did decide to begin a writing career, he wrote “RANSOM”, a film funded and distributed by Disney, starring Mel Gibson and directed by Ron Howard. “RANSOM” was a huge box office success worldwide. Three years later Sandy wrote an original screenplay, “THE WEDDING DRESS”. “THE WEDDING DRESS”, produced by CBS, starred Tyne Daly and Neil Patrick Harris. It was the Movie of the Year of the CBS Movies of the Week. Sandy grew up in Ojai, California, where his father, a famed artist and teacher, welcomed many original thinkers to his home, where Sandy enjoyed their company as well. Producer A familiar figure among producers of studio feature films as well as independent feature films, ED ELBERT is Producer for this project. Ed has produced a number of studio feature films, including THE MARTIAN CHILD, ANNA AND THE KING, and THE MIGHTY QUINN. He has won acclaim for his work with the Los Angeles Latino Film Festival and has set box office records in South America. One of his films, THE MIGHTY QUINN starring Denzel Washington, was selected by movie review team Siskel & Ebert for Best of the Year and Best of the Decade. Ed has wide-ranging experience in marketing at Motown Records and Warner Brothers. He also was Project Officer for Oscar winning and nominated films such as STAR WARS, THE OMEN, JULIA, and THE TURNING POINT. In 2007-2008, in partnership with Jonathan Sanger and Sarah Ryan Black, Ed produced the feature length film 100 FEET, a supernatural thriller. With Jonathan and Sarah he also was executive producer of PARAISO TRAVEL, a Spanish language drama based on Latin American novelist Jorge Franco’s work, “Paraiso Travel”. Time Magazine compared the film to Oscar award winning CITY OF GOD and AMORES PERROS. PARAISO TRAVEL set box office records in South America. Ed holds an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business with additional graduate studies at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, New York University, the New School in New York, and University of Stockholm, Sweden. Historical Consultant Historical Consultant, JUDITH FRUTIG, is an award-winning journalist/media consultant and is now teaching journalism and media history at California State University, Long Beach. As a print journalist, Judith has worked for some of the most notable news organizations in the United States, including The Christian Science Monitor and Detroit Free Press. She was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for “America’s Ten Most Livable Cities,” an 11-part series in The Christian Science Monitor. As owner of Judith K. Frutig/Corporate Communications, she developed a client list that included government agencies, an industrial league, real estate developers and some of the highest profile Fortune 500 corporations and executives in southern California. As a teenager, Judith developed an avid interest in the history of the Christian Science Movement and the life of Mary Baker Eddy. She lives in Laguna Hills, CA. Chairman of the Board/Chief Financial Officer Former IBM executive, WILLIAM E. “BILL” FARRELL, retired after 32 years with that worldwide corporation, to serve as CEO of Executive Management Consultants, Inc., based in Colorado. He has since been frequently “on loan” to clients with small and medium-size businesses, serving as CEO, CFO or VP of Sales and Marketing to startup and turnaround businesses, saving or restoring companies in financial difficulty and with declining operations. While still with IBM, Bill assisted in the development of a planning methodology later adopted worldwide by IBM and the White House administration. Over the past 40 years in the USA and abroad, Bill has headed intensive planning sessions for non-profit organizations. He successfully encouraged IBM to give its largest community donation at that time to open an adult Job Training Center, teaching literacy, GED preparation and job skills. Bill and his wife, Sally, have 3 children, all married, and 6 grandchildren. Board Member Professionally, DICK UPSHAW has been a franchisee in the Taco Bell restaurant business for many years. He brought Taco Bell restaurants to Tyler, Texas, and his company, JDS Restaurants, Inc., owns and operates 23 restaurants in the Tyler and Shreveport areas of Texas and Louisiana. Some of his restaurants were purchased as operating units, while others were built from the ground up. As a leader in his industry, he has actively served in related trade organizations. He became interested in the Mary Baker Eddy film project and served as facilitator for the 2009 “For Thine is the Glory, Inc.” informational meeting held at The Leaves, a Christian Science care facility. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of The Leaves. He joined the Board of “For Thine is the Glory, Inc.” and continues to facilitate informational meetings. Dick graduated from Principia College and served in Vietnam as a Marine helicopter pilot. He and his wife, Ruth, raised three children. Board Member/Creative Consultant ANDREW SHEPHERD grew up in Chicago in a talented family of artists, folk singers, and story-tellers. Music, acting, sculpture, writing and dance were all a significant part of his life. He trained in classical voice and has served as soloist in churches in San Diego, Los Angeles and Chicago. He earned his BA in Cinema Production from the University of Southern California (USC). Since then he has worked on informational and marketing videos for several companies on the web. In addition, he has been active as a Christian Science nurse for the last eight years. Andrew is responsible for producing the video clip of Judith Frutig on the website at www.marybakereddythemovie.com. Furthermore, Andrew has collaborated with Steven Shore on a feature-length documentary. Secretary/Treasurer of the Board DAVID BEAR has had a successful career in building materials distribution, both at the wholesale and retail levels. He then transitioned into an eight-year career as Production Manager and Outside Sales Rep for a national distribution partner. He is currently successfully employed in the Financial Services industry, focusing on individual and small business wealth management and tax liability mitigation. David understands the importance of Mary Baker Eddy’s life being presented in its true light, and the tremendous benefit to mankind this will bring. He feels this movie project can be a great help to the general public in getting to know her, her healing work and writings. David attended Principia College and completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Idaho.
