This film is an independent film from "For Thine is the Glory, Inc."
1. Is this a Christian Science Church project?
Answer: No. This is an independent film project who's purpose is to simply introduce Mary Baker Eddy and her profound life to the more than 80% of the world who have never heard her name or heard about the book she wrote on spiritual healing. The Christian Science Church was not asked for approval for this film project because it is an independent film, not an activity of the church nor meant to proselytize on behalf of the church.
2. Who is the intended audience for this film?
Answer: This film is intended for general audiences world-wide.
3. Will this film be a biography of Mary Baker Eddy?
Answer: The film is biographically accurate and the script was written to include more of her life story. It is primarily a drama focused on the events surrounding the attempt by a group of powerful newspaper moguls and others to destroy her and take control of everything she had built. It is a story of her victory over the most powerful figures in “yellow journalism” in 1906.
4. Have you selected a producer?
Answer: Yes. Ed Elbert was
selected as the producer early on in Steven Shore’s vision for a
commercial feature film. Ed was selected for his film expertise, his
knowledge of the industry from conception to distribution, and his
interest in Mrs. Eddy and her life story. Steven Shore has worked with
and known Ed Elbert, knows his integrity, intelligence, and trusts the
working relationship they have built over many years. Please see Ed’s
biography in the Bios section of the website.
5. Have you selected a screenwriter?
Yes. Alexander (Sandy) Ignon was selected based on his extraordinary writing
ability and understanding and appreciation of the underlying material.
Please see his biography in the Bios section of the website.
6. Have you selected a director?
No. Not yet. Since the screenplay is completed, when needed funds are in the bank a director will be chosen.
7. Who will play the major roles and will they be Christian Scientists?
Answer: The actors chosen by the producer and director will be those
actors whose credibility and talent add most to the presentation of the
story and the making of the film.
8. When will the film be completed and distributed?
Answer: The schedule is dependent upon the speed with which funds are raised. $6 million is needed to begin and complete the filming. Another $6 million is needed for distribution and marketing.
9. What are your plans for distribution?
Answer: We anticipate using multiple marketing strategies.
10. Is this the same movie Val Kilmer is making?
Answer: No, this is a different project.
